Eureky Rat Trap Peddler Creates Stir Aboard River Boat
A ragged traveler aboard a river packet from up river haggles over fare to Orleans and tries to hawk the Eureky rat trap to passengers. He fixtures his pitch with a boastful display, encounters scorn from a young woman, a baldheaded man, an old maid, and an invalid, and is eventually told to quit by the captain as he drifts toward Vicksburg with his chalked hatful of figures.
