Last Days of Theodore King Magdala Memoir Revealed
A Pall Mall Gazette letter from a Bilis captive dated April 19 1868 recounts the April 7 1868 descent from the Amba, the King’s brutal executions of prisoners at Belos and Below, the King’s fear of British defeat, the British envoy talks, and the eventual liberation of Magdala prisoners ending with the King’s death and a rescue by a British camp.
