The Appeal notes many locals and leaders cited by Lawtell
The Appeal by Jas P Lawtell surveys scattered items from Arkansas to Kentucky and Georgia. It highlights a push to limit Georgia legislature sessions, mentions editorials on sweet potato crop chatter, a death of Theodore H Byrd, fashion notes on pantaloons, a Hartford City suicide, Brevard County Florida manatee catches, Meridian Mississippi water depth, and various political and social observations. It reflects a miscellany of early 19th century news and opinion.

Dr Hape Rescued After River Cave-In Near Devil's Pulpit
Special to the Censul reports Dr. Hape descended alone from Lover's Leap to Oceana and along the brink within a cliff reach. After failing to return, rescuers feared a watery grave but spotted a light on a narrow ledge. At dawn five men lowered ropes, and the doctor, still strong, grabbed the line and signaled. He descended to safety as rescuers prepared to hoist him up with rope.
