Tight moral talk on women and loyalty in a skeptic tone

A fragmentary 19th century monologue argues women control rumors and loyalties, contrasting a woman’s social power with political cruelty. It asserts marital infidelity is a grievous fault bringing lasting shame and sorrow, warning of social and personal ruin from betrayal. The piece rails against double standards and moral hypocrisy.
