Massive Louisiana snake killed after men shoot giant boaconstrictor

Mr Snaith and his thirteen year old son William encountered a huge snake in the woods by Quadaw Bayou as they herded cattle. The creature, thirty one feet long and thirty inches around, strangled a yearling calf and was about to swallow it when the men fired. After a prolonged exchange of shots the snake was killed, and residents speculate it was a boa constrictor type. The article also includes various recipes and a note about arsenic cure claims for Frouen disease and a quip about the Brooklyn Eagle on weddings and potatoes.
