Death on Denman Island follows illness and bereavement
The eight year old son of Geo Dumaresq died on Tuesday after long illness. Funeral was held Thursday at 2 pm with Rev Father Morti officiating at the house and graveside. The family, formerly of Vancouver, had moved to Denman Island about eighteen months ago and later rented a farm near Cumberland. The Denman Island Store Co. vice-president S. J. Dumaresau has begun building a new residence at the island's corner, purchasing two acres from Alex Swan for 60 per acre, with two Vancouver carpenters arriving to oversee the work amid adverse weather. The project adds to the village’s growth and prosperity.
