Courtenay and Comox share the Eagles' Championship cup at season end as Cumberland trails. Cumberland dominated in past years but this season Courtenay and Comox rival for top honors with several students earning firsts across football, relay, fields events, and basketball throws.
Keen Competition in Firemen's Events
Cumberland Volunteers led a Saturday firemen’s contest beating Alberni in the final wet test by about seven seconds. Courtenay failed in the hose race, finishing 51 seconds. Alberni did not finish. Cumberland and Alberni had injuries among Courtenay and local entrants watched by a large crowd with enthusiasm.

Island Lakes To Be Stocked With 40000 Trout Eggs
