Denmanites Hear Men’s Musical on Island Visit
The Men's Musical club performed for Denman Island on Friday night with generous encores. Conductor C. W. Sillence received a bouquet from Mrs. Piercy as thanks for the successful concert. Well Known Pioneer Laid To Rest at Sandwich
Thomas Anderson of Sand wich died in St Josephs hospital Comox on Tuesday morning just after his seventieth birthday. A native of England he lived on Vancouver Island for over forty years building cabins on the Forbidden Plateau and later ran a school bus for Tsolum. He bought land at Sandwich and was widely known from Nanaimo to Comox. Funeral at Sandwich cemetery followed by a grave side service conducted by Rev A Corker with pallbearers R R Machin Fred Swan R E Ault Robert Surgenor F H Janes and H Avent.

Royston baseball team defeated Cumberland nine nine to nothing on Sunday afternoon. Aitken pitched for Cumberland with Westfield catching. Dan Bannerman pitched late but could not stem the tide as Royston surpassed Cumberland after a tight early game. Large crowd enjoyed the friendly banter despite the lop-sided score.
