Larges Whist Drive At Tsolum Lady Knights Event

Wednesday night event drew many players at the Tsolum Lady Knights of Pythias hall. Twenty nine card tables offered prizes: turkeys geese cord of wool chicken and chocolates. Mrs Sen Piket won first prize turkey among the ladies. Mr J Scales won first prize turkey among the gentlemen.

Courtenay School Children Present Seasonal Concert at Gaiety

Courtenay December 21 The Courtenay public school staged its annual Christmas program at the Gaiety Theatre drawing a large Valley crowd. Principal William G Stubbs and teachers led a two act show featuring Why the Chimes Rang with Bishop Cameron McPherson and Angel spoken parts, a parade of wooden soldiers, and songs by Kitty Williams and Miss Hildebrand Carroll classes. Student performers included Iona McNeil Willie Morson Mabel McKenzie Sidney Williams and a corps of junior girls in colorful costumes with Japanese loaned outfits.
