Boy Drowns In Creek On Farm

The drowning death of Ray mond Horwood three and a half, son of Mr and Mrs Fred Horwood of Minto, occurred Tuesday forenoon at Harrigain s Creek on the family farm. He wandered to the stream while playing near the yard, the bank gave way and swift floodwaters carried him downstream. Search parties found his body caught by his legs in the water. The remains were taken to the undertaker as his siblings from Oakland, California were awaited for funeral arrangements.

Successul Annual Meeting of the Ladies' Auxiliary

The Ladies' Auxiliary of Holy Trinity Anglican Church held its annual meeting in the church hall. Secretary Mrs J Cameron presented the report and balance sheet showing receipts 576.50 and expenditures 460.20, leaving 126.30. Officer slate elected: President Mrs G Richardson, Vice President Mrs J Cameron, Secretary Mrs J Spicer. The group approved buying prayer hymn books and choir books for Christmas. Refreshments were served by President Mrs G Richardson.

Cumberland Literary and Athletic Assoc Annual Meeting

The Cumberland Literary and Athletic Association will hold its annual meeting at the Ilo Ilo Theatre on Sunday evening December 23, 1923, at 8:00 p.m. Officers will be elected and a Grand Christmas Drawing will award twenty eight prizes including turkeys.

Hon Sloan Sees Record Mine Output for British Columbia

Rangers Win From Bay By Lone Goal

Rangers beat Union Bay 1-0 in a delayed Sunday league match at Union Bay. The only goal came four minutes before time after Burns drove through to beat the stranded Bay keeper. Harry Auchinvale impressed for Union Bay and Jim Robertson led the Rangers in a tight defensive display.

Greatest Windstorm in Cumberland History Strikes City
