Auditors Push Insurance Review for DeWitt County
Auditors say thorough scrutiny of insurance policies is needed to maximize coverage. De Witt County spends over $18,000 yearly on tort claim and workers compensation insurance. Auditors Harris and Houlihan cite loophole policies as examples. Revenue sharing debated in Congress could aid Texas counties and cities through federal funds. Senator Tower and Benson indicate the law may pass, with unconfirmed rumors of up to $200,000 for De Witt County annually.
