Heeren Jury Deliberating Long For Verdict In Creston Case
After more than twenty two hours of deliberation the Heeren jurors had not reached a verdict by midmorning on the morphine possession charge against Bernard Heeren of Creston. Trial began Tuesday before Judge Homer A. Fuller with jurors sent home until nine o clock tomorrow. A separate Creston case saw A E Pierce plead guilty to illegal liquor possession and receive a 200 dollar fine or three months jail if unpaid. Union County school funds received semi annual interest totaling 231. Th2.31 from J. W. Long state auditor according to Associated Press. The state auditor paid Union County 988.90 while county auditor paid 763.41 for rescue workers. Hundreds of autos returning from the races hindered ambulances from reaching the injured.
