Standard Oil Cuts Gasoline Prices in Several States
The Standard Oil Company of New Jersey announced a one cent per gallon cut on gasoline and kerosene in New Jersey Maryland Virginia North Carolina and Louisiana. Wholesale gasoline in Jersey City and Baltimore fell from 28 to 27.5 cents per gallon and kerosene from 18 to 17.5 cents. The New York unit priced gasoline at 30 cents and kerosene at 18 cents. In Youngstown Ohio gasoline reached 29 cents per gallon for the first time since the war, while Pittsburgh Corning crude oil was reduced by 50 cents to $3 a barrel via the main purchasing agency.
