The PN-9 No 3 seized by the destroyer William Jones reached Crissy Field at 8 a m with Lieut Allan P Snody and four crew unharmed after a 300 mile return from a failed Honolulu attempt. The craft, damaged when an oil line broke and struck by a destroyer, could not join tomorrow’s PB 1 San Francisco to Honolulu flight. Navy says two weeks needed to repair the monster seaplane for another long flight.

Stabbed Man Separated Fight at Cass County Farm
Omaha dispatch reports Charles H. Hardy 76 was stabbed while trying to break up a fight between I. D. Stevenson 88 and John Lober 84 at the Cass County poor farm near Plattsmouth. Hardy, cut in the abdomen, was given such and such medical care and remained hospitalized. Stevenson is jailed facing assault and battery with intent to kill charges. Hardy is the father in law of the farm custodian.

Cascade Iowa September 2 William Diedeker 16 son of Mr and Mrs John Diedeker prominent farmer of meat here killed at 3 am between here and Dy ersville when a car he rode in collided with another on a curve. Three occupants of a Cromwell owned car driven by C. Baird escaped injury Tuesday night when the automobile went off Primary road No. 8 two miles east of Creston. The front wheel was broken and the car did not overturn as it slid down a five foot embankment. It was towed here for repairs.
