Mineola N Y Nov 28 A divorce to Mrs Frank Tinney wife of the black face comedian was granted by Justice Reigelman custody of son Frank Jr and 200 a week alimony awarded Tinney had returned from England where he appeared in London music halls and night clubs and the couple announced they would appear together in vaudeville Mrs Tinney hinted at a possible reconciliation noting they might remarry within a year the petition cited Tinney's relationship with chorus girl Imogene Wilson as co respondent.
A confession by Joseph M. Sangerman, director of Chicago’s bombing trust, describes the group that wrecked barber shops and policemen’s homes and smashed windows for sums from 50 to 400 dollars. Five others including Lena Schrock Rice are implicated. State’s Attorney Crowe plans charges and a grand jury review to press the case.

W E Pierson cashier of the closed State Savings bank is on trial in district court for fraudulent banking. Director C F Putt testified Pierson claimed two notes from A L Brown totaling 11000 while Brown’s account showed an overdrawn balance of 2100. Prosecutors rested after presenting evidence of insolvency and assets outweighed by liabilities.
Louise Hardy of Oakland California died at her home Friday from a stroke of paralysis. She was visiting relatives here last summer and was the sister of Mrs Margaret Zimmerman of 404 Livingston Avenue.
Hartford Nov 28 Gerald Chapman the mail bandit and policeman killer was granted a three month reprieve by Governor Trumbull. He defends his case in a five page brief written in his cell arguing President Coolidges commutation was unlawful and will seek U S Supreme Court review to argue federal sentence should be served first.
Wisconsin Rapids Wisconsin Nov 28 two masked gunmen entered a roadhouse near the city and fired at two men as they left a radio concert Instant death claimed R A Davis a Portage County farmer William Bauer of Wood County is gravely wounded Franco Flatoff owner of the roadhouse and his wife were present Davis leaves a widow and several small children with the attackers fleeing by car from the scene
Creston's health officer Dr. T W Golden says there is no epidemic and the city has a strong health record. He notes no quarantines and no current cases of smallpox measles, diphtheria, or whooping cough with only seven smallpox cases in eight months, two from outside the city.
A car traveling east on primary road No. 8 near Creston turned onto its side in a ditch, then righted itself after striking a guard rail. D. M. Moore and three companions escaped unharmed despite considerable damage to the vehicle. Moore blamed an instinctive wheel adjustment while reaching for luggage in the back seat.

Senator Brookhart of Iowa arrived in Washington and said he would introduce a relief bill in the next Congress. He urged federal and state law changes to allow cooperative marketing, lower transportation rates, and tariff readjustment to restore parity for farmers.
The Iowa Republican Party plans to press evidence at a Washington senate hearing to show that Senator Smith W. Brookhart won by fraud and misrepresentation. Witnesses are subpoenaed as party leaders prepare to argue Brookhart urged voters to support the La Follette Wheeler faction and to portray his election as improper. Senator Brookhart has arrived in Washington for the hearings amidst contest proceedings.

Creston school board unanimously favored a junior college linked to the public schools but took no action to authorize immediate start. President H W Edaburn said Stephens may study the plan, draft a procedure, and prepare details for board review. A vocational night school offering mechanical and math courses was also authorized, with state funding and student tuition covering costs.

The United States bureau forecast a moderation of the recent low temperatures across Iowa. Early readings showed Charles City six below, Dubuque twelve, Davenport fourteen, Des Moines fifteen, Sioux City sixteen, and Keokuk eighteen below zero.
