Nineteen Afton high school seniors will receive diplomas at graduation in the Affton opera house. Superintendent C. L. McDowell announced the list of graduates and that Glen Moore Maxfield of Marshalltown will give the commencement address. Honors go to six seniors with top scholastic marks, including Maneely and West tied for high honors along with Irvine and Turner among top finishers.

In Madison on May 20 anti prohibition measures advanced in the Wisconsin Assembly. The Meggers resolution to memorialize Congress to call a convention to amend the eighteenth amendment was adopted 48 to 38. A senate resolution for a state referendum on 2.75 percent beer was concurred in 51 to 34.
