Minneapolis reports state that Carlson and Edna Carpenter were detained without charge in the Featherstone murder case. The 87 year old Civil War veteran was found beaten to death after an automobile ride invitation at the Old Soldiers home in Marshalltown on November 4. Body of Wickham Found Hanging in Home Corridor
E A Wickham a 58 year old Council Bluffs contractor and financier was found hanged by a rope in an unused basement room at his home after a two day nationwide search. His brother Leo Wickham and Police Captain J C Shaffer reported the death. Wickham had recently returned from hospital after an automobile accident that killed his wife and left him ill. He had been a powerful figure in local business finance and politics, securing government contracts to build army camps during World War I.

Missing Capitalist Has Law Suit Pending Here
E. A. Wickham of Council Bluffs, who disappeared last Monday and died by his own hand, had a civil suit filed in district court here on June 23 1924 to collect a $3 500 note drawn by A R Kilburn非 a non resident of Iowa. The suit sought attachment of about 1 000 acres of Union county land. a writ of attachment was issued and Wickham posted a $12 000 bond but the writ was dismissed and Kilburn furnished bond. Kilburn has answered Wickham's petition claiming the note was paid before suit.

Two Year Old Drowns In Farm Water Tank
Hershal Augustine two year old son of Mr and Mrs Howard Augustine of Hebron neighborhood drowned in a tank on the Augustine farm early Tuesday morning. Breast by the bird girl Pearl Schneers the body was recovered from the tank about a foot of water. The child had climbed through a fence to reach the tank and fell in while playing nearby.
