In the AD VERTISER Wednesday issue an error corrected Emil Hanneman of Fort Madison. He was not a guest in the John Bell home but a guest of the Lowana hotel here on business. Miss Mable Ferguson of Lenox was among Creston shoppers on Friday afternoon.
The United States Department of Agriculture reports owner operators on 15 103 farms in 1924 had an average cash balance of 1624 and a margin of receipts over expenses. Inventories rose by 181 bringing average returns to 1205 on capital of 17260. Food and fuel produced on farms averaged 266 in value. Cash expenses averaged 1410 with hired labor 384, and average land size was 303 acres with land value 14323.
The First Presbyterian Church will present a religious concert at 8 o'clock Sunday night featuring organ preludes, hymns, scripture reading and prayer, and multiple performances by the church choir. Duets and solos include Donald Green, Willis Royce, Mrs. Lloyd West, and Mrs. Bert Brown with selections such as Sun of My Soul At Rest with God and The Ninety and Nine. Reverend W. L. Cain will give a talk followed by the closing hymn My Faith Looks Up to Thee.
The Methodist Episcopal Church invites you to Sunday school at 9 45 with 21 piece orchestra and efficient teachers. Worship at 11 with theme Christian Service and text Jesus of Nazareth Went about Doing Good. Sunday night College Night features home students, junior chorus, orchestra, and readings. The program ends with the film The Golden Dip and the season ends until September. Pastor Homer Baumgardner.
The Congregational church continues weekly services through July with prayer song ministry and music. Sunday school at 10 am led by Homer F Harsh with missionary story and offering for the Sunday School Extension Society. Communion on July 5 and baptism or membership reception available by request.
Salem Lutheran Church invites attendance at Sunday services with Sunday school at 10 a.m. Holy Communion at 11 a.m. sermon titled The Shepherd Seeks His Lost Sheep. Evening service at 8 p.m. sermon The Tabernacle. Bible talk on worship. Pastor Arthur A. Christenson.
A cordial invitation is extended to all to attend church services. Church school meets at 9 45 morning worship at 11 with a sermon on The Accumation of Power by Pastor J Hamilton Woodsum. A joint meeting of the young peoples union and the church is at 7 p m.
The Latter Day Saints meet at 0. C. F. hall corner of Pine and Mills streets. Preaching at 11 a m with Brother Holloway speaking both morning and evening and again at 11 o clock. Evening service at 7 45 p m with Holloway delivering the sermon.
KLDS, the 1,000 watt broadcasting station, lists 11 am 6:30 pm and 9:15 pm Sunday programs with a Wednesday prayer meeting at 8 pm at 605 West Prairie. The United States now has 101 Class B broadcasting licenses. the 100th went to a Chicago firm and the 101st to KLSD in Independence Missouri.
St Pauls Church lists church school at 10 and morning service at 11 for the third Sunday after Trinity. No church school or services will be held in July. Rector Edward Hutchinson signs the notice.
The church urges all members to attend a Sunday Communion service with reception of new members. A sacred choir concert follows from 8 to 9 PM. This will be the last church service until Aug 2, aside from Sunday school and prayer meeting. Pastor William L. Cain.
Evangelical Lutheran Missouri Synod hosts divine services in T'ter Post hall on Montgomery street tomorrow at 10 a.m. The gathering welcomes all members of the congregation for a morning of prayer and community.
First Church of Christ Scientist at 104 North Oak street lists Sunday school at 10 and morning service at 11 with the lesson subject Christian Science. A Wednesday 8 pm testimonial meeting is planned and the reading room is open Wednesday and Saturday 2 to 4 for public visits.
Rev. H. H. Twyford will preach both morning and evening sermons with Bible school at 10 o clock. Classes cover all grades and a men’s Bible class meets in Deitrick’s funeral chapel. All men of the church are urged to attend and baptisms follow the evening sermon. The church welcomes all with good fellowship.
