Miss Eva Thayer former Creston resident died in a Rock Island Illinois hospital after an extended illness. She lived in East Moline Illinois and is survived by two sisters both of East Moline. Her body will be brought to Creston Friday morning with funeral arrangements to be announced later.

Deny Woman Second Trial in Nusbaum Case
Mrs Elza Grandma Nusbaum was denied a new trial by the supreme court and must serve a penitentiary sentence for complicity in the murder of her husband Albert Nusbaum. John Walton Winn, who beat Nusbaum to death December 29 1925, was hanged this spring. Their trial centered on testimony by Edward Grant, a teamster, who claimed the pair plotted the murder and that Nusbaum was not to be killed by Winn.

Four Die in Boston Fire At Paine Furniture Exec Home
A blaze in Boston today killed four occupants at the home of William L. Shearer Jr., Paine Furniture vice president. Victims are Janet Shearer 19 Bettie Howes 16 Alice Scott 32 a housemaid. Helen McLaughlin the cook and Mrs Annie Dickson the governess were rescued by firefighters.

Clinton judges sentence Georg Dallas Karl Baber alias Carson and Joseph Clark to ten years each in the state reformatory at Anamosa after guilty pleas to breaking and entering. Judge C C L Ely of Maquoketa imposed the terms. Dallas was wounded attempting to enter Schoendelen store at Welton. Baber and Clark were hurt in Morrison Illinois after wrecking a stolen car. they were treated in Sterling hospital where arrested.

Collision at Phil Baker corner injures two occupants
A sedan and a coupe were damaged last Sunday afternoon in a collision at the Phil Baker corner three and a half miles west of Cromwell on the Prescott road. The occupants escaped with scratches. One car carried Mr and Mrs Kluber of Cromwell and the other was driven by Prescott residents.
