Fisk farmer suffers partial paralysis in car crash
Adolph Brezo of Fisk is hospitalized with paralysis from the waist down after a car crash near Fisk last Friday night. Two vertebrae were shattered and he remains flat on his back in a full body cast. His companions John Tompkins and Fred Matthews, both of Fisk, were riding in Matthews car when a calf darted into the road causing the rollover. Tompkins broke a collarbone while Matthews was unharmed.

Walter Baker a convicted burglar who escaped from the Illinois Southern Illinois penitentiary at Menard was treated at Greater Community hospital. Mrs Louisa Parks Hazen died at 3 15 PM Monday at her daughter Anna Crittenden’s home in Pleasenton town. Born December 23 1826 she was 87. She moved to Creston and Lincoln township in 1893 and lived there 32 years. Survived by daughter Anna Crittenden and four sons Hazen Ray Hazen David Hazen all of Creston and Bion Hazen of Boyd Oregon. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at 1100 at Jerusalem Church with burial in Jerusalem Cemetery.
