Des Moines Man Dies In Wreck Near Fremont
Ottumwa July 1 Frank Roberts 31 of Des Moines died en route to St Joseph hospital from injuries after a car rolled over on federal highway 65 near Fremont. He and his wife and Mrs Walker Poder, all of Des Moines, were bound for Kirksville Missouri to spend July 4. Mrs Poder drove and supposedly turned the front wheels too sharply to avoid a ditch. Both women hurt but expected to recover in hospital.

Byrd Sets New Long Distance Flight Record
Commander Richard E. Byrd reportedly established a new long distance record of 3,812 miles by flying from New York to Ver Sur Mer France.
