Fire damages home of G L Applegate in Cranbury area
Two fire alarms were sounded last Saturday for a chimney fire at the home of Mr and Mrs G L Applegate. Cranbury Fire Company and Hightstown were called and used chemicals to extinguish the blaze. The house suffered extensive damage from top to bottom though loss figures were not yet learned.

George W. Clendenning fell about 30 feet while painting the Atchley house in Pennington and suffered a broken neck. Neighbors alerted Drs Littie and Richards, who declared him dead on arrival. He was active in the Presbyterian church and town business life and leaves a widow a daughter and three sisters.
