Rev J E B Curry preaches from John Baptist his Meat his Message his Example Mark 1 3 Sunday school at 10 o clock Prayer meeting Friday night 730 controversy
Pastor Rev. Frederick Schweitzer invites Christian parents to present children for baptism this Sunday October 31 at 11 o clock in the Second Presbyterian Church. During Sunday evening community service the pastor will address the Dry Voters about Tuesday's election.

Mr Isaac Ss Everett and Mrs Geo B Mershon attended a party Thursday honoring the 82d birthday of Thomas Everett at their Trenton home. About thirty five guests were present and a general good time prevailed.
Report describes large ears of corn from Jozeph J. Chamberlin on seven acres. Ears measured TS inches long and 10 around, containing 1 080 grains. Notes the crop as a pretty good meal and eliciting wonder and admiration.
Rev H C Owings of Pittsburgh has accepted the call to lead the First Baptist Church of Hightstown. He is expected to start after January first, with outside ministers filling the pulpit in the interim.
A big Hallowe en dance at Hightown Opera House takes place Saturday October 30 1920. Music by the 115th Infantry Orchestra provides the evening’s entertainment for masked or unmasked attendees.
About forty friends gathered Tuesday evening to honor the tenth anniversary of Clarence M. Perrine and his wife. Mrs Perrine was surprised while Mr Perrine showed lingering doubt but both enjoyed a jovial party with refreshments provided by the guests.
The Second Church welcomed more than twenty new members this Sunday as the pastor led a solemn service. Six new congregants were baptized, with ten joining on profession of faith. Named new members include Edward Stanley Barclay, J. Milton Bergen, Weasley H. Bergen, Helen Carr, Clendon Danser, Ralph Danser, Willard Purdy, Raymond Reed, Edward Simonson, John Stonaker, Wa K Striker, James VanSise, W Austin VanSise, James A VanSise, Harold E Wilson, and multiple married couples.
Bert Heavener of Cranbury township was committed to the county jail in New Brunswick by Justice Walter Havens on a charge of breaking and entering the home of Hendricks H. Conover at Cranbury. Heavener will be held to await the grand jury’s action, meeting again November 5.
Friends mourn Grace Reisinger youngest daughter of Mrs. Nancy Reisinger of Beaver Pennsylvania. She worked at John Wanamaker in Philadelphia and fell ill gradually after sudden illness. Mrs. J B Curry unable to attend funeral, staying with sister Mrs Ernest Scott in South Orange.
Arthur L Burroughs formerly of this place and now First Assistant in the Foreign Collection Import Department of the National City Bank in New York has won the cash prize for the best club song. He wrote the music and Harold H Moore of the Educational Department wrote the words. The City Bank Club has three thousand members. The new song debuted at the annual election dinner and dance at the Hotel Commodore with Burroughs jeering.
Over fifty attendees filled the chapel for a senior Christian Endeavor Society event. About two thirds wore costumes. Judges Mrs Harold Wilson Mire Beseie Bergen and Miss Irene Walker awarded prizes for funniest and most original outfits to Miss Mary Spaulding as Dinah and Mrs F Schweitzer as the Cranbury Press.
Pioneer Grange held a Halloween party Tuesday hosted by entertainment chair Mrs. Russell Spratford. Reminder of November 23 exhibit by County Board of Agriculture and Pioneer Grange with exhibits from across the county including potatoes corn bread lager cake and dairy dishes. Mr and Mrs Oliver Nixon hosted a masquerade Friday October 22 in Dayton for their son Leon s 19th birthday. Dancing and orange black decorations highlighted the evening with refreshments served late. Attendees included Cranbury guests Miss Irene Walker Norma Wright Edna Walker Mildred Updike Enid Walker Margaret Perrine and Messrs Earl Butcher Leslie Perrine Harold Scott Alexander Butcher Alvin Updike Lewis Chamberlin Franklin Brasch Ernest Walker. Other guests came from New Brunswick Jamesburg Old Bridge and Dayton.
The Ladies Guild of the First Church hosts an Election Night supper after voting, focusing on chicken oysters meats and desserts. They will serve a top quality supper in the church chapel while supporting the voting effort and local good causes.

One of autumns grand weddings drew about 7000 invitations as Alma Marguerite Flock and Clifford Clairton Stults wed at Hamilton Square Baptist Church. Rev. John G Booker presided with Rev. J E Curry assisting. The couple left for a trip through New York and Canada before wintering in Florida. Both seniors of Rider College are noted for local ties to Mercerville and Cranbury.
Mias Viola May Wetherill daughter of J H Wetherill of Hightstown and Frederick E Schanck of Dayton NJ were married Wednesday evening October 20 1920 at George Road Baptist Church parsonage by Rev Charles F Stanley. Attendants were Allan H Ely and wife. The couple are prominent socially in Dayton.
The Past Councilors Association of the Junior Order United American Mechanics met in Cranbury with 300 members from sixteen councils. County Councilor Van Nuis presided. Joel Parker won banner for most attendees, Mechanics Home Council Jamesburg second with eighteen. A morning procession occurred, three new members joined, and Freeholder William S Dey spoke. Next session in Perth Amboy in November will feature a ladies night and dance at Palace Hall.
The Junior Society of the Christian Endeavor meets Sunday at 3 in the chapel to discuss Our Talents led by Gladys Petty. At a recent business meeting officers were elected for six months: Stanley Owens president, Donald Owens vice president, Anna Schnell secretary, Kathryn Schnell treasurer.
The Presbyterian reports the installation of Rev William M Curry D D as pastor of the Ninth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. It also notes a strong sermon by his brother Rev Joseph E F Curry of Cranbury titled The Attractiveness of the Cross.
