Sunday morning service at First Presbyterian features Rev. J. E. Curry delivering a sermon titled Profitable for the Life Which Now Is, with scripture from Timothy Chapter 4 Verse 8. The address focuses on spiritual gains and daily conduct.
Sunday morning preaching by Rev J B Edgar of Jamesburg Presbyterian Church announces the Synod of New Jersey meeting at Atlantic City next Tuesday. Attending elders include Alex 8 Stairs from First Church, G B Mershon from Second Church, and Mrs M E Bergen and Rev J E Curry with his wife.
The Y P C A will meet in the Second Presbyterian chapel Sunday evening. The subject is A Saloonless Nation Why Not under the leadership of Migs Olive Petty.
Mr and Mrs E W G Borer spent the weekend in Cranbury and then moved to new apartments in Philadelphia with Mrs E G Barclay. After November 15 they will be at home at 5924 Carpenter St West Philadelphia.
Mr and Mrs Le Roy Scott and Mr and Mrs John D Bennett travel in Scott six cylinder Studebaker visiting Morristown Lake Hopatcong Mount Arlington Dingmans Ferry Milford Port Jervis Goshen Tuxedo Park Saffern Paterson Newark dinner at Nankin Garden hosted by a Cranbury business leader.
Mr and Mrs Lemuel Stults hosted a Monday dinner with guests including Miss Bessie Conover of Brooklyn Mr and Mrs C P Emmons Mr and Mrs Jos C Chamberlin Miss Rhoda Dorrance Mr and Mrs Ernest Stults and daughter Gladys Mr and Mrs Clarence Perrine and daughter Rosella.
Mrs. H. J. Butcher served as a delegate from the Cranbury W C T U to the State W C T U convention in Moorestown from October 13 to 16. The meetings featured addresses by Mrs. Deborah Knox Livingston on Franchise and by Dr. Parker of Jersey City, along with the Diamond Medal Contest.
Steinbach Company announces its 44th Fall Opening from October 17 to 24 in Asbury Park. The event features refunds on carfare, free delivery, interior displays, window exhibits, and concerts by an orchestra. John Steinbach's team of buyers maintains personal oversight.
A wedding was held at J W Davison's home in Hights town as Florence Isabella Davison wed Englebert Hiles Garrison. The ceremony occurred under autumn leaves with Miss Kathryn Marquis of Lisbon Ohio and ministers Rev Walter Davison Rev Garner Tullis and Dr Thomas Tyack assisting.
Sun day School anniversary exercises set for Sunday afternoon at Second Presbyterian church Cranbury with a program including an anthem vocal solos by Edna Duncan and Annabel Hennessey of Trenton, ex minister Rev W A Stanton of Hightstown to give the address, processional Gavotte and Marche Pontificale, hymns and offertory selections.
Mr and Mrs Joseph Wyckott entertained Wednesday to celebrate their son Harvey s eighth birthday Guests included Dorothy Hutton Russell Hutton Edward Schnell and Miss Ruhamah Strang.
Miss Phoebe Morse of Prospect Plains and William J. Rader of Bayonne married in Trenton on Wednesday at State Street Church. The Rev. William Melville Curry officiated. The bride, given by her mother Mrs. Caroline Morse, wore a gown and was attended by her sister Miss Jessie Morse with John O’Keefe as best man.
Miss Helen Merritt an eighteen year old Williams avenue station agent on the New Jersey and New York railroad faced a masked robber who fired a shot, bound and gagged her, and escaped with 3450. The agent attempted to defend herself with a revolver that proved unloaded.
The Reading Circle met at president Mrs. Spaulding home for its season opening. Mrs. Smith of East Orange spoke on women’s clubs work, plus Federation notes from Mrs. C T Hoffman. A piano solo by Mrs. Clarence Perrine and vocal by Miss Hattie Lewis delighted members. Lily of the valley pins were handed out. Committee rosters for receptions and upcoming Federation events were announced with names of many members.

About seventy guests were entertained on Thursday evening by Mr. and Mrs. Wm. T. Jones. Dancing was the principal amusement. All attendees enjoyed themselves. Ladies provided refreshments and the gentlemen supplied the music.
Dayton congregation filled the church for anniversary exercises last Sunday. The program was well received and Mrs. Karnell gave a speech described as very inspiring, with praise for the local people’s efforts.
The Cranbury band was among eight good bands at Lakewood on Thursday and by judges' decision was awarded first honor for their fine music.

Ely Mount of Windsor suffers a broken leg after a horse kicked him as he entered the barn. He slipped while escaping the hoof and was stepped on by the animal, causing the injury.
Frederick Blackwell of Hightstown after selling his messenger business last week to David Horn has logged nearly 400000 miles on railroad trains in sixteen years in the occupation. He spent about 2500 dollars on railroad fares and did not miss more than ten days in any year visiting Philadelphia and New York. He now owns the pool and billiard rooms once run by Edward Ralph, noted for cue games. The eighty sixth annual Central Union of Christian Endeavor convention will meet in Dayton tomorrow, with Rev. Dr. Thomas Tyack of Hightstown presiding.
A dynamite bomb in metal casing exploded under a pew at St Patrick’s Cathedral on Fifth Avenue causing floor and window holes, damaged pews, and chipped granite and altar. Two worshippers were lightly injured. Initial doubts about a bomb gave way as Inspector Eagan concluded it was a bomb.
The Colored Ladies Larkin Club met on Friday with Airs Benjamin Ridley. The monthly premium was won by Miss Hester Nixon. Members listed include Mrs. Fred Phares secretary Mrs. Frances Holmes Mrs. Hattie Reeves Mrs. Annie Long Mrs. Benjamin Ridley Mrs. Eva Vincent Mrs. Lizzie Harris Mrs. Mamie Thornton Miss Annie Haley and Miss Hester Nixon.
