Rev Adolps Allen calls for full congregation attendance next Sunday as Second Presbyterian Church in Cranbury observes the twelfth anniversary of his coming. The morning sermon will focus on anniversary thoughts.
The Young People's Christian Association meets Sunday evening in the chapel. The topic is Mistakes Often Made led by Raymon Lawrence.
The Methodist Church hosts a Tuesday evening fundraiser on November 19 with a supper by church ladies and an entertainment program including orchestra music a quartet solos and recitations by Miss Eleanore Mason of South Amboy The event aims to please both musically and literarily Rev Adolps Allen Lectures For Jersey City Public Schools invited speaker returns as staff of lecturers with first talk on the Lord of the Turk and the Land of the Pharaoh in Turkey Egypt travels illustrated in foreign lands.
The Willing Workers mission band of the First Presbyterian church will meet in the chapel next Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Leaders are Alex Butcher and Henry Wilson. Program includes The Mountaineers and Mexican Song Scripture reading prayer songs and readings by Margaret Gibson Gertrude Ferguson Clayton Ferguson Tillie Me Dougal Lucile Chamberlin and Margaret Perrine. An offering will be collected.
The Rev William Melville Curry of Cranbury has been unanimously chosen as pastor of the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Trenton. He announced the decision to the church session by telegram after previously serving Lineville Lima and Parnassus. Born in Willington Indiana, educated at Kansas University and United Presbyterian Theological Seminary, he comes with a strong reputation as preacher writer and speaker. He succeeds Rev Dr Hugh B MacCauley who resigned last year to lead the National Federation of Churches of Christ. Mrs Curry is a noted singer and the couple have two sons aged six and fifteen.
Frank S. Davis Sr a Cranbury merchant and Mrs Mudge Appleget of Cranbury wed yesterday at the bride's home in a ceremony conducted by Rev Adolps Aller. The couple wore blue attire, guests included close relatives, and a wedding breakfast followed before they traveled by car to Fren ton for train to Washington and other southern destinations.
A wedding was solemnized at the McIlvaine home near Tennent on Wednesday November sixth. Nellie McIlvaine married Forman Duncan, son of May Symmes Duncan of Englishtown. The Rev. J. McTivaine officiated. The bride wore white brocade satin with orange blossoms and carried bride roses and lilies. Frank Perrine served as best man. ushers were Charles Perrine and Ray Schenck. About 150 guests attended the ceremony and dinner. The couple plans a honeymoon in Washington, D C, then reside near Tennert.
Mrs Barbara Wolfe aged 85 widow of Junu Wolfe Sr. dies at the Windsor home of her daughter Mrs Darnell on Sunday. Survived by a large family including George Wolfe Prospect Plain Frank Wolfe Windsor Martin Wolfe Windsor William Wolfe Applegarth Mrs Holsneck Bristol Mrs Darnell Windsor Mrs George Perrine Applegarth. Funeral held Wednesday at Union Valley M P Church at two o'clock with Rev N E Webb and Rev Mr Brook officiating. Interment Cranbury. Bearers listed: Jacob Heidinger William P Gibson George R Thomas Aucil G Dey Peter Clayton A V Okeson.
A Saturday evening gathering honored Mrs Albert Grover with a surprise party. Guests included Mr and Mrs Augustus Conover, Mr and Mrs Henry Conover, Mr and Mrs Leroy Scott, Mr and Mrs Walter Scott, Mr and Mrs Clarence Grover, the Misses Eulh and Julia Grover, Mr and Mrs Harvey Grover, the Misses Ruth and Helen Grover, Mr and Mrs Leroy Grover, Mr and Mrs Charles Carson, Mr and Mrs Clifford Stults, Mr and Mrs George Davison, Mr and Mrs Richard Mason and son Alex, Miss Elizabeth Grover.
Warren F. Johnson, longtime organist at the First Presbyterian Cranbury and Central Baptist Frenton churches, resigns to become organist at the Third Presbyterian in that city. The post is lucrative, with a fine organ, and the community congratulates him on the advancement. Johnson is popular for both piano and organ performances in Trenton.
A group of youths gathered Thursday at Mrs Charles Carlsons home to surprise welcome her daughter Mrs Oluff Olsen of South Amboy. The event was a merry gathering with cheerful moments.
Early morning fire on W. P. Ferguson’s Cranbury Station farm destroyed barns and season’s crop with buildings and carriage houses burned. Firemen saved the house and removed stored dynamite to prevent further danger. stock survived. Insurance amount unknown, loss described as heavy.
A large meeting at Old Fellows Hall adopting a plan to buy six swans for Brainerd Lake. About one hundred dollars was subscribed. A committee was formed to oversee the project including Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. B. Mershon, Mr. and Mrs. John Silvers, Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Barclay, Mr. and Mrs. Chifford Conover, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Perrine, Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Hoffman, Mrs. Samuel Perrine.
The Circle held a pleasant Wednesday gathering with Mrs. C T Houma. Professor Winters of Peddie Institute delivered an address on The Individuality of Trees. Banjo duets by David C. Lewis Jr. and Arthur L Burroughs. Next meeting planned for Wednesday November 20 with hostess N F Vinyton.

John H. Barclay of Orchardside Farm is among exhibitors at the Annual Land Show in a New York Armory. He shows fifteen boxes of fine apples packed by Connecticut packer Mr. Reynolds. The department prize cup is valued at 75000 dollars. The Mammoth Show features diverse collections and scientific and invention displays, including vast tunnel systems. Also promotes Chamberlain's Tablets for appetite and digestion, sold by Alt Dealers.
