The Y P C A of the Second Church will meet Sunday evening led by Walter Griggs on the topic What Is a Christian Life. The Reading Circle meets next Wednesday with Mrs. J E Curry for Nature Study. Grace Dey of Dayton will render solos at First Church Sunday morning. she has a sweet soprano voice.

Reports say telegraph operator A L Eskridge of Jamesburg was arrested Sunday in Trenton with an elderly couple two children and his sweetheart who offered her gold necklace as security for his appearance. He was released after pleading he was outside city limits and vacation shopping notes follow.
A town note urges parents to discipline children and ban sidewalk bicycle riding roller skates and noisy wagon play that disturbs neighbors and harms property. Residents warn they may seek legal action if behavior does not improve and promise to pressure authorities to enforce rules.
The eighty fifth convention gathers at the Reformed Church Spotswood on Saturday May 23 with devotional service led by Rev Dr Easton and talks on The Future of Christian Endeavor Youths Renewal and Praise and Prayer. Luncheon follows after a committee meeting. Afternoon sessions feature pastor hours three minute talks led by Rev W Bullock and sermons by Rev W J B Edgar and Rev Dr W A Stanton. Princeton will observe Memorial Day with forenoon exercises on May 30. Winkler's Band from Trenton will play and President Hibben of Princeton University will speak at Witherspoon Street Cemetery. Nassau Street Cemetery will also hold services with an address expected from Father Fitzgerald or his replacement.
At a Jamesburg meeting last week residents organized Memorial Day observances with a parade involving patriotic societies firemen school children veterans and sons of veterans from nearby towns. Graves will be decorated in local Englishtown and Spotswood cemeteries alongside speeches and a musical program. The community mourns the passing of Dr. H C Symmes aged fifty nine after a sudden attack Friday night. He leaves his widow Hattie Sutphen and brothers Rev Frank R Symmes and Rev Joseph G Symmes, with funeral at his home and interment at Brainerd cemetery.
Mrs. Sarah A. Clayton aged 82 died at her son Elias Clayton’s home in South Amboy on Tuesday morning. She was the last survivor of two children born to Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Stukte of Cranbury Station. Her funeral was held today with interment in the M. P. cemetery at Union Valley.
Mr and Mrs John Mount hosted a social evening for Peddie Institute faculty and friends in their newly completed home in Hightstown. Guests included Headmaster R W Swetland and numerous faculty members and guests in attendance.
A harsh sermon condemns church hypocrisy and crowding in pews. The speaker mocks hypocrites who support institutions enabling hunger while urging genuine reform and action beyond lip service. He targets Catholics and Protestants, calling for accountability and moral renewal within congregations.
Steinbach Company introduces an electric charge approval machine enabling clerks to have customer charges OK'd by a phone call from the machine. The store will also install latent cash registers operated by cashiers in crowded departments to speed service. The firm invites the public to view the new appliances in operation.
The Calburn Stock Company opens its summer year at Trent Theatre in Trenton with Louis Mann's comedy drama Elevating a Husband. Richard Thornton leads the cast as the unpolished five and ten cent store merchant who marries a society girl seeking to elevate him.
