Cranbury Home Damaged by Fire on South Main Street
Fire alarm sounded Tuesday morning as a blaze swept the back stairway and adjoining bedroom at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Symmes H. Perrine on South Main. Mrs. Perrine and her maid escaped, Leslie Perrine warned, and firefighters quickly contained the flames. The first floor remained intact but woodwork in the back stairway and adjacent bedroom suffered heavy damage, with walls, ceilings, and many items smoke stained. A waste basket ignite source remains a mystery. Estimated losses are covered by insurance.

Local Women’s Club Notes and Civil War Veteran’s Death
The Women's Club met at Mrs. Stanley Conover's home with resolutions of respect for the late Mrs. George W. Burroughs. Mrs. Arthur L. Burroughs was elected to fill the vacancy. Alfred Chamberlin, 84, Cranbury resident and Civil War veteran, died at home after a long illness. funeral Saturday at 2 pm from his residence with Rev. J. B. Curry and Rev. L. E. Lennox officiating, interment at Brainard Cemetery.

Hightstown Banquet set for April 12 with Cal Brown speaker
Hon Calvin Brown chief of the organization service bureau of the United States Chamber of Commerce will keynote the Hightstown Board of Trade annual banquet on Wednesday evening April 12.
