William Wallace McChesney, formerly of Cranbury, died last Friday at Asbury Park aged 77. Burial followed in Second Presbyterian cemetery with a graveside service by Rev. Adolphs Allen. He is survived by son W W McChesney Jr and daughter Mrs E Evans of Richmond Hill, plus a relative Susan Faber.

Fires at Bellis Farm Lead to Damage and Injuries
Two suspicious fires struck Asher Bellis’s Hightstown road farm near Muallstone bridge this week. A dining room blaze damaged papers and clothing after doors and a window were left open. The next night a wagon house fire consumed the structure and contents, with Bellis suffering burns while trying to save a wagon.

C Forrest Swett a well known Trenton newspaper reporter and music critic ended his life at his Hermitage apartment 105 Colonial avenue by placing himself atop a gas range and inhaling fumes. He was about 36, had struggled with poor health, and had recently worked for the Trenton Times and Sunday Advertiser. His wife is a patient at the state Hospital for the Insane.
