Monmouth Presbytery Meets in Burlington Church
The Presbytery of Monmouth gathered at a Burlington church on Tuesday with solid attendance by ministers and elders. Rev J E Curry of Cranbury presented temperance committee results and Rev R H Parsons from the General Assembly’s Committee shared encouraging New Jersey conditions. Rev Charles F Shaw joined from Albany and plans were made for his installation as pastor of the Asbury Park church.

The Woman's Foreign Missionary Society of Monmouth Presbytery met in Yardville on Thursday with attendees including Mrs. Ella Stula Mrs. J E Curry of Cranbury and Miss Beatrice Tyack of Hightstown The gathering opened with devotion and featured a speech by Mrs H B McArone from the Philadelphia Board of Foreign Missions New officers were introduced and other business discussed Baptist youth from across New Jersey will attend the Sunday school assembly at Peddie Institute Hightstown directed by Frank A Smith pastor of Central Church Elizabeth Dr W J Chalmers Education Secretary of the American Baptist Publication Society led two conferences and is a Jersey native and Peddie alumnus

Social gathering honors Laura Scudder with gifts
On a Tuesday evening at Symmes Court twenty friends including neighbors and Board of Education members visited Laura Scudder. A bouquet of roses and sixty five dollars in gold were given as tokens of love and appreciation by parents of schoolchildren teachers and friends. Refreshments followed and the gathering affirmed enduring friendly relations.

Mount J Duncan Dies After Long Illness at Stone Ridge
Mount J Duncan died after a long illness on Tuesday at Stone Ridge New York. He was long a valued employee of Francis H Leggett on his estate at Stone Ridge and earlier a well known resident of Cranbury area. He was twice married first to Rebecca Dey and then to Kate Silvers who survives him. He leaves a son Frank and two daughters Mrs Stephen Parsons and Mrs Lillie VanDerveer of Newark, two sons Wm Silvery near Princeton and Dr Selah Silvers of Newark. He was an elder in the Reformed Church of Stone Ridge and formerly with the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury. Funeral services will be held at Enoch Eldridge’s home in Hightstown New Jersey on Saturday at two o’clock.

Prominent New Brunswick Carpenter Benjamin Hartough Dies
Benjamin Hartough a 75 year old resident of New Brunswick died at his home 294 George street Friday night after peritonitis despite medical care. He is survived by his wife two daughters a sister and five grandchildren. Funeral was held Tuesday at four from his home conducted by Rev Joseph B Kulp. Hartough was a long time member of several lodges including Odd Fellows Knights of Golden Eagle and Lady Wildey Lodge.
