Rev. C. W. Heisley preaches Sabbath July 30 at 7 30 P M on Solomon the wise young man and the ruinous old man. He asks if Solomon was not a hypocrite and what spell led him to pleasure and a warning against trifling with God. Soles will be rendered by W Russell Silvers.
Mrs. Peter Barclay aged 71 died at her home near Dayton on Saturday evening from laryngitis following twenty years of rheumatic suffering. She is survived by husband John Barclay one son one sister Mrs Armenia Dey and a brother Isaac Hutchinson. Funeral held Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church Dayton with Rev J B Clark officiating and burial in Hights town cemetery. The Second Presbyterian Sunday school picnic is planned for Tuesday August eighth at Union Valley grove with J S Silvers and E B Barclay named to arrange.
The Mercer County Granges hold their annual picnic at Woodland Grove Wood land Grove Hamilton Square on Wednesday August 2. The Groveville Band provides music and Hon G W F Gaunt delivers an address.
Goodwin's Band is in demand for harvest homes and festivals. They performed Wednesday in Dayton and schedule August 2 at Tennent and August 3 at Windsor. They will also play Acapulah on the 9th at Hights town and August 10 at Union Valley. They are engaged by Hightstown Fire Company to perform at the Firemen's parade in Freehold on October 6.
Old Tennent harvest home planned for Wednesday with rain date. Union Valley harvest home to be held in the grove by the church on Thursday with music by Goodwin's Band. Directors of Cranbury Vigilant Society to meet at Perrine's home Saturday July 29 with new members to be received. Marriage of George L Perrine and Lida Titlow celebrated at Cranbury Methodist Parsonage June 20 1911. Addison Perrine and Ernest Johnes and a runabout accident near Mercerville injured. Perrine hospitalized then recovered. others slightly hurt. horse injured. vehicle damaged.
In Trenton July 26 Mrs Hattie Ely of Jamesburg sues for maintenance against her husband Leon Ely of Cranbury. Vice Chancellor Howell orders Ely to pay $800 weekly alimony and $15 counsel fee while the suit, filed in the Court of Chancery, determines its outcome. Ely denies desertion and support refusal, stating he contributed what he could and did not intend to leave New Jersey. Senator Silzer and Barton Hutchinson appear as counsel for Mrs Ely and Mr Ely respectively.
The 47th annual term begins September 4 with 18 specialists on the faculty for day and night classes. Demand is high as calls for bookkeepers stenographers and private secretaries exceed any prior year, with 75 calls in June. Last year 1200 students attended day and evening classes, making it one of the three largest business colleges in the United States.
Following a disastrous blaze at the College Farm in New Brunswick the Summer Meeting of the State Board of Agriculture scheduled for August 2 is not to be held this year due to the rebuilding workload.

The Board of Freeholders plans to have every improved road in the county in good condition before frost. Two extra steam rollers aid the effort as old roads neglected under prior boards are rebuilt or resurfaced.
