Harvest Home by The Firemen of Cranbury on Cranbury school grounds next Tuesday August 8 with supper at six, ice cream cake and refreshments and music by Goodwins band. Union Valley harvest home in the grove near the church Thursday August 10 with music by Goodwins Band. Woman's Foreign Missionary Society meeting today at 3 30 with Mrs E B Barclay. Christian Endeavor Society to meet Sunday evening next August 6 with topic Lessons From Great Lives led by Miss Margaret Curry. In the Methodist Church last Sunday Rev C W Heisley preached on Solomon the wise young man the debauched and ruined old man. W Russell Silvers sang One Sweetly Solemn Thought. Mrs David J Wilson superintendent of Beginners at First Presbyterian Sunday School received flowers from her class as a surprise after two months illness. Firemen urge support by buying lemonade at Harvest Home Tuesday night.
William Rowland of New Brunswick died at Spring Lake after a fall several days earlier. He was 83, long engaged in shipbuilding with offices in New York City, and funded Livingston Avenue Baptist Church’s house of worship. He is survived by two brothers, two children, and his wife Jane de Gay predeceased him.
Walter J. Dey of New Brunswick contests the probate of John Ruding's will claiming feeble mind and undue influence. The case heads to Orphans Court for hearing as executor James H. Conover offers probate. Dey alleges Ruding cut off close relatives and that the contested bequests to Mrs. Robbins and Mr. Cole were improper.
The Burlington steamer of the Delaware River Transportation Company sank after striking a monster anchor in the channel near Perking. Captain Gray and the crew guided passengers to safety onto scows and shore with no loss of life. about 250 people were aboard and all escaped, though the crew lost their belongings.

Benjamin Dey a prosperous farmer of Prospect Plains near Cranbury and three guests escaped serious harm when his auto skidded on sand near Hoffman Station. The car plunged down a steep embankment but rolled and saved by spanning the ditch. Dey and an elderly woman were bruised. others shaken. machine badly damaged.
William H. Gerhart 65 of Nutley N J was struck and killed crossing the Erie Railroad tracks at Verona avenue Newark on Monday afternoon He leaves a widow and a son Herman E Gerhart of Nutley and is survived by his daughter Mrs J W D Mershon of Livingston Manor New Brunswick He worked as a bookkeeper for Maas Waldstein Co 487 Riverside Avenue Newark The crossing lacks gates only an automatic bell warns pedestrians of approaching trains
