Syndicate Plans to Abandon the Maggie II in Honolulu
In a muttered exchange aboard the Maggie II the crew agrees to hand the schooner to a deceptive mate and flee Honolulu with their black market cargo. Gibney pushes the plan while Scruggs, McGuffey, and Scraggseily weigh the risk of later exposure and a San Francisco return. Neils Harvorsen is kept in the loop as the Swede secures allegiance to the syndicate.
