Deniston Gilliland Ties Vows In Evening Nuptials
Raymond Deniston of Dayton and Miss Elinor Gilliland of Jamesburg wed Thursday evening January 12 at 8 30 in the manse officiated by Rev Joseph E Curry. Attendants were Mr and Mrs John T Larkins. The couple will be welcomed by a wedding party of family and friends.

Several local items report small fire and society events
A boarding house fire at the Walker Gordon farms was contained before Cranbury firemen arrived, caused by an overheated stove with slight damage. A Helping Hand Missionary Society comedy will be staged January 26 at First Presbyterian Chapel with a Princeton quartet. The First National Bank Cranbury elected nine directors led by William J. Rowland and Ezekiel S. Barclay with officers named. a bank dinner followed. Jamesburg bank directors and officials were also announced with plans for improvements. The Implement Dealers Association held its annual meeting in Trenton with local attendees. A widow, Mrs. Stults of Dayton, aged 91, died and will be buried in Cranbury. A West Middlesex W C T U report thanks Cranbury for comfort bags sent to Raritan Arsenal and notes high appreciation. Agricultural Week at Trenton features an armory exhibit on Home Demonstration Work and a January 12 program on nutrition and shopping.

Washington January 18 Senator Joseph Frelinghuysen becomes New Jersey’s representative on the Senate Finance Committee. The panel oversees all revenue legislation including tax and tariff bills and will shape the Fordney bill. As a member he will defend New Jersey industrial interests and workers while guarding constituents' interests.
