Alex C Applegate and wife welcome a nine pound baby Alexander Jr. Margaret Hill marries Raymond H Britton. John H Barclay spoke on apple growing and marketing at regional meetings. Community Brotherhood gathers at Schultz Memorial Church for an 8 pm service. Easter Cantata for Red Cross titled The Resurrection and the Life, organized by Mrs Russell Johnson, with rehearsals next Wednesday at 7 30 pm at Mrs Johnson's.

At a Mercer County Y M C A committee meeting Wm. Russell Silvers was named Cranbury township chairman. He proposed dividing Cranbury and Plainsboro into two districts for a thorough canvass. Totals show Cranbury and vicinity 2334.80 and Plainsboro and vicinity 451.25. A fur shipment valued at 80,000 was sent from Hightstown to New York by Lemuel Black, importer and dealer.
After months of illness Mabel P. Clayton widow of Arthur A. Clayton died Monday. She was the daughter of H. T. and Mrs. Pullen of Asbury Park and leaves two children Evelyn and Ronald and three brothers William Pullen Perth Amboy Frank Pullen Ainey Park and Lester Pullen Connecticut. Funeral was at her Union Valley home with burial at Brainera Cemetery Cranbury. She was an active First Church member and had just begun a Sunday school class. February 15 would have marked eight years of marriage.
J Marshall Pullen died at his home near Cranbury on Monday aged 60. He leaves a widow two daughters Mrs Alvin Anderson of Princeton and Mary Pullen and a son Ralph Pullen. Funeral services will be Friday at two at his late home with interment in Cranbury.
Mrs S Stone wife of Reuben Stone of Yonkers New York died after an operation in St Josephs Hospital born July 7 1867 near Princeton New Jersey married February 9 1899 at Plainsboro New Jersey active in the Presbyterian and Central Methodist churches in Yonkers she leaves husband four children John S Richards Emily B and Cora Reubens funeral held Saturday February 2.
William Voorhees formerly of Cranbury, Jersey City, died Tuesday after a short illness at age 49. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Jacob Voorhees and left his mother Mrs Voorhees of Cranbury, two sisters Mrs Ezekiel Ridgeway of Newark and Mrs Wycolf Rue of Jersey City, and one brother Abram Voorhees of Cranbury. Funeral services were held Thursday evening in Jersey City with interment at Cranbury Friday.
The C E Society of the First Church meets in the chapel next Sunday evening with the topic What My Church Stands For. Mrs J E Curry leads a program including devotional service, responses by Mildred Forman Emily Walker Hazel Hutchinson and Mary Woolston, duets by Gertrude Davison and Mary Symmes and readings by Miss Scudder Miss Florence Partine Miss Lucille Chamberlin Miss Helen Forman Elmer Applegate Leslie Perrine Newell Davis Miss Margaret Perrine Miss Bertha Applegate and a message from Dr C H Bandy followed by a final duet.

A meeting of the New Jersey Potato Growers is set for Monday February 11 at 10 o clock in the Y M C A Auditorium East State Street Prenton. The gathering aims to connect growers with the National Food Administration and may form the New Jersey Potato Growers Association with an executive committee to safeguard growers if grading selling and price fixing regulations arise.
Founder's Day at Peddie Institute will be observed on Tuesday February 12. The event marks the institute's 52nd anniversary with an address by W H S Demarest president of Rutgers College. The Peddie Glee Club will perform as house pins are presented and drills held in the gymnasium with judges Val Austin Colgate Major Nelson B Gaskill and Lieut Robert L Patterson. A silver loving cup and medals will be awarded for best drilled company and cadets, and the battalion will receive the Peddie service flags with over 200 stars.
