Jamesburg church schedules sermons and harvest supper

The Jamesburg Presbyterian Church posts two services with morning and evening sermons. Morning sermon titled Blessed are the meek as part of The Beatitudes series, evening message The Message of the Prophet Amos. A Thursday prayer meeting at 7 30 and a harvest home supper on Wednesday August 21 with supper at 35 cents and music and good eats on church lawns hosted by the Ladies Aid Society.

Funeral of Mrs Alfred Rue Recalls Local Ties and Loss

Mrs. Alfred Rue aged 83 died at her new South Cranbury home after a peaceful morning, born Mary Ann Stultz in Cranbury. She leaves six children, with three living Maude Rue Henry Rue Archibald Rue and a son John who died saving his grandson from drowning others: Matthew died in Newark and Mrs Sadie Murray died in China. Funeral at her late home conducted by Rev J E Curry with interment in Brainerd cemetery. Her husband died in 1906.

Mrs Norton in Serious Accident Near Hightstown

Mrs Norton wife of Dr H G Norton of Trenton was in a crash when she jumped from a moving car heading toward Hightstown. She sustained a concussion of the brain though doctors hope for recovery.

Dey Former Hightstown Resident Dies in New York

John B. Dey a former Hightstown resident died in a New York hospital Sunday night at age 98 after years of failing health. He is survived by daughter Miss Jessie Dey of New York. Funeral services were held in New York with interment at Brainerd Cemetery Cranbury.

Auto collision on Main street injures none

A parked car on Main street began to drift across to the right to let a passing auto go by. The approaching car also turned, resulting in a minor collision. Both vehicles were damaged but occupants were uninjured and taken to Dennis' garage for repairs. Prof. M S Farr of Princeton rode in one car with unnamed companion.

Embroidery Club Outing to Keansburg

Dayton Embroidery Club members enjoyed an auto trip to Keansburg yesterday. Attendees included Mr and Mrs J W Errickson and family, Mr and Mrs Wm M Cox, John and Celia Everett, Ray Snedeker, Mr and Mrs Harvey R Dey and others, plus many Mr and Mrs Petties and Beekman relations.

Base Ball Showdown At School Grounds Tomorrow

The home team meets American Bridge Company of Trenton tomorrow at 3 30 p m on the school grounds. The Bucks County League leaders boast victories over Bordentown and Cranbury. Seats will be provided for ladies and a large crowd is expected after last week’s solid turnout.

Brakeman Killed In Train Collision Near Sea Girt

Ellsworth E. Housman a 30 year old brakeman on the Jamesburg line was struck and killed by a Pennsylvania Railroad express at 7 45 AM on the curve between Sea Girt and Manasquan while coupling engine to cars. Coroner Albert W. Bennett of Belmar called. inquest possible. He leaves a widow and four children.
