Women to form class at schoolhouse under Miss Whitcomb

A meeting of community women is set at 3 30 p m next Tuesday April 20 to organize a class led by Miss Frances Whitcomb the Middlesex County home demonstration agent. The first lesson covers making a fireless cooker followed by eight dressmaking courses and dress form making. All interested women are urged to attend.

New Road Map of New Jersey Issued for Spring Touring

The 1920 edition Road Map of New Jersey from the Department of Conservation and Development appears for automobilists. With state aid routes, turnpikes, railroads and the state highway system, it shows improvements and unimproved roads. The map measures about 2 by 4 feet and is printed on durable bond paper in three colors.

Poultrymen Will Discuss Brooding and Rearing

The Middlesex County Poultry Association holds its regular monthly meeting Monday evening April 19 at 8 in the New Brunswick library. C A Cornell and C H Chandler will discuss breeding and rearing problems and answer member questions. The session is open to all poultrymen.

Past Councillors Visit Plainsboro and Spraying Demonstration

The Past Councillors Association of the Jr. O. U. A. M. of Middlesex County visited Plainsboro Council on Monday evening with Surrogate D. W. Clayton addressing the meeting. Raymond Griggs began spraying in his orchard on Friday April 9. A. F. Mason of Rutgers started the first spray on a tree block for cost and yield records, leaving four trees as unsprayed checks. The demonstration, to monitor apple pest and disease control, runs through the season, conducted by Middlesex County Office of Farm Demonstration with cooperation from the New Jersey College of Agriculture Horticulture Department.

State Highway Commission Maps Food Truck Support Plan

The New Jersey State Highway Commission voted to place about 126 trucks at public disposal to haul and distribute perishable food if railroad service halts. The meeting approved adding Route 16 from Trenton to Morristown to the state system and awarding concrete road contracts on Routes 6 and 1.

State Museum expands film distribution to New Jersey

The State Museum will become the sole New Jersey distributor for the Bureau of Commercial Economics films. Starting next fall, 600 plus subjects will be available to schools libraries granges churches and other institutions for free viewing with only shipping costs. The program aims to broaden access to educational motion pictures via the museums lending collection.
