W Jas Jory forest ranger of the Creston district was killed when the delivery car he drove overturned near Kitchener. Alf Palmer was seriously injured with multiple broken ribs and wounds while James Muncan escaped with minor scratches. Dr Henderson conducted a post mortem and a jury was convened to view the scene.

Obituary Notice for Jory Soldier Forester and Mason
The late Mr Jory, an overseas veteran of the 54th Kootenay Battalion, served in 1915 and settled at Camp Lister in 1920. He was assistant forester from May to October 1 and junior warden of Craton Masonic lodge who conducted the funeral. He leaves nine wives and one son.

Last Friday evening Knox Presbyterian Church Cranbrook inducted Rev M S Blackburn as pastor in a ceremony led by Rev David A Smith and A A MacKinnon. Smith gave the induction sermon urging Christ centered service and missionary effort. The rite included examination of the minister and right hand fellowship, followed by pastor congregation guidance on punctuality visiting the sick and church prayer. A pleasant social hour and refreshments followed in the church school room.

The Conklin and Garrett Shows moved to Nelson on Sunday morning for the Nelson fair in the second year. They earned little profit despite high gate receipts as night crowds were weak relative to heavy show costs.
