Enrico Pelligrin recovering well after appendicitis surgery at St. Eugene Hospital. Alec Derby of the Western Grocers visited recently. Verne Slye of P Burns Company was in town for business. The Recreation Club held its third meeting last Wednesday with a larger crowd.

Ladies Hockey Clubs to Affiliate With City League

At a Cranbrook YMCA meeting the adjourned Cranbrook Ladies Hockey League resolved to dissolve the body and have member clubs affiliate with the Cranbrook city league. Officers of the city league had been appointed last week. Two clubs will add two members from each club to the directorate.

Hockey league to schedule practice and games for ladies clubs

The Amateur Athletic Association Board will be represented by the Hockey league. A forthcoming Hockey Board meeting will set practice hours for each ladies' club and organize a games schedule.

Fireman Lost In Train Wreck In Lake

After a Pacific Royal line wreck at noon the fireman vanished beneath the engine and tender in lake water. Divers from Vancouver were dispatched as officials exhausted efforts to locate him amid coal and rock debris.

Fatal Rail Accident Sparks Community Grief

A deadly accident on the railway division drew deep sympathy from railway workers and the public. CPR and police have assisted at the wreck site to recover the fireman’s body, which divers located on Wednesday and brought to the city.
