Reports say grading on the Banff Windermere highway is near completion with east and west gangs within a mile of each other and advancing quickly. Open Moose Season Authorized in Columbia District

Rev HW Wolverton M D and Mrs Wolverton returned missionaries spoke at Sunday services to Baptist congregations in CLPY. An open Baptist Women's Mission Circle meeting followed with Mrs Constantine presiding. Mrs Wolverton shared India life experiences, sang Telugu hymns, and introduced an Indian inspectress of schools Mrs Bruce. A missions collection and Indian crafts display ended the gathering.

Death of Mrs Sang Removes Popular Figure From City
Mrs Heryl May Sang wife of Mr ROE Sang of this city died at 1 30 pm Friday after an operation at the hospital. In her early twenties she married five years ago and had filled a large place in social life. Her death draws wide sympathy from bereaved parents spouses and sisters and funeral plans were not announced.

Regular Meeting of School Board Last Monday
Only three trustees attended the regular monthly meeting, with two lady members absent. The board approved Miss Gibson as Division V teacher at 1100 dollars yearly and Barling to the high school staff at 1500 dollars yearly. A janitor for the extra Division V room was approved at 15 dollars monthly. A hardwood requisition for the manual training school, estimated 212.75 dollars, was set to proceed. Notice of the BC School Trustees Convention at Penticton was filed along with the usual accounts for salaries and supplies.

Acknowledged plea in city police court for Jacob Andrew
Jacob Andrew an Indian of the Koo penny tribe appeared before Police Magistrate Leask in the city police court on the 1801 charge of being intoxicated under the Indian Act. He was fined 30 dollars and ordered to serve thirty days in jail. His wife Louisa was charged with being disorderly on the street and released on promise of good behavior. Harry Putta was fined 100 dollars and costs for supplying intoxicants to Indians in lemon extract. A local billiard hall proprietor was fined 25 dollars for permitting persons under 18 on the premises. Brown of Lumberton was fined 10 dollars for disorderly conduct in public on the 6th. W C Crebbins, formerly on the government office staff, visiting with Mrs. Crebbing at Mr. Parnaby’s home. transferred recently from Soldier Settlement Board at Victoria.
