About thirty curlers met led by Geo Hoggarth to elect officers for the approaching season. Dr G B E MacKinnon was chosen president after a deadlock, with W Harris stepping down as secretary and an interim arrangement made. The club plans a $12 annual membership and a $5 district rink entrance fee, plus vote to prize the Fink Cup in a points competition.

Fenwick-Wilson wedding ties Fernie to Spokane
On Thursday morning Mat Fenwick daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A B Fenwick married Mr. Bishop Wilson of Fernie. Rev W F Burns officiated. The ceremony at Mat Fenwick ranch home featured Miss Mary Ella Fenwick as bride and Stafford Wilson as best man. After a wedding breakfast the couple traveled by noon train to Spokane and will reside in Fernie upon return.

All coal camps in Alberta and eastern British Columbia are working with much shipped to Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Nelson BC A CW T Manufacturing Co branch factory for soap, financed with local capital, has been established here and will start production at 1000 packages a day as equipment is installed. This will be the head office for Interior distribution in British Columbia.

Minor Court Dismissals And Harsh Hoboing Sentences
In the City Police Court Dan Ukrang’s case over youths at Ven szia Bowling Alley was dismissed after a by law deficiency. Laurence McGillis faced a vagrancy charge and was fined 30 dollars or three months hard labor. Hendrickson and Erickson were fined for loitering. Several men were fined for riding trains with fines up to six dollars. A group pled guilty to intoxication and will aid the Public Works Dept for forty days. Fred J. Mayoff was found guilty of theft and given an eight month suspended term.

Invermere reports John MacDonald a longtime local cook and teamster shot himself on his Kootenay Valley ranch. He left evidence of his intention and was buried at Windermere Cemetery. He was said to have Coast relatives and claimed kin to Sir William MacDonald of Montreal.
