Coronel Disaster Remembered Eight Years On
On November 1 1914 Lieut H F Helmsing recalls the naval engagement at Coronel. Admiral Cradock’s squadron provoked Graf von Spee’s force, Good Hope and Monmouth were sunk, Glasgow retreated. Cradock and his men fought bravely, later avenged at the Falklands by Sturdee.
