Prominent Cranbrook Man Killed by CPR Switch Engine
James Percy Leslie, long time Cranbrook resident and businessman, was fatally struck by a switch engine in CPR yards while nearby duties. An inquest ruled accidental death with no blame. He hosted a farm near Cranbrook, helped found the Boy Scout movement, and supported local clubs. funeral set for Saturday at Christchurch with Rev. E. P. Flewelling.

Rancher Burned to Death in Creston Fire Tragedy
Creston British Columbia yesterday Hugo Haro a Finlander on a 20 acre poultry plot lit a fire when coal oil was poured on smoldering wood causing an explosion. He died at once while two friends nearby were badly burned but survived to be treated at Nelson hospital. The incident left a widow and three young children in Bellevue.
