Week End Veterans Events Mark Armistice Observance
Local G W V A members plan a weekend of ceremonies and gatherings to honor Armistice Day. A Saturday smoker, cemetery service with wreaths, a Sunday memorial at the Auditorium, an Armistice Ball Monday night, and Poppy Day sales begin at midnight. The events aim to support veterans relief work and include representatives from Kimberley and other areas. A city siren will sound at 10 58 a m on Armistice Day to begin a two minute moment of silence.

Fire Investigation Concluded In Slaterville Abbott House Fire
Provincial police finalised a fire inquiry at the Abbott house in Slaterville before Magistrate Leask on Wednesday. G J Spreull and H W Herchmer led the case with briefs from interested parties to determine possible causes of the blaze and a court finding will be sent to the Inspectorate.
