Wm Stewart requested license transfer to run Cosmopolitan hotel and close Royal poolroom. transfer granted. Chief Adams reported 22 new prisoners and fines over $600 for February and noted ongoing investigations. Mayor then called a private meeting.

Mining lecture on Monday next in city hall
Mr A T Langley Revelstoke District Mining Engineer for the Kootenays will lecture on Geology at city hall Monday evening March 7 at eight o clock. A display of about 150 mineral specimens from East Kootenay will accompany the talk with lantern slides. A social hour will follow hosted by the Retail Merchants Association for prospectors and business men.

A provincial study led by Nichol Thompson and J A McVety shows a Pacific Coast market of 1 000 tons daily for foundry pig iron and a regional need for 2 000 000 tons per year of iron and steel. Canada currently exports little while U S Pacific ports move about 100 million dollars of steel products. Victoria reports a Coast Range Steel deal with a bounty up to four dollars per ton and up to ten million pounds of capital to develop BC iron and steel, with engineers assessing ore resources.

A large Windermere meeting decided to purchase ten acres with option for another ten for permanent grounds. Directors were instructed to close the deal. The association plans its annual fair for September 16 and 16 with a Department of Agriculture approval awaited. A second annual Farmers' picnic is planned for this summer at a later date.
