Cranbrook residents hosted a gracious event for Tommies with a decorated hall, orchestra, card tables, and a large meal. Local Misses Lillian Leask Elsie Bent Ella Ryckman Benny Doyle organized the affair with Major Pearce aiding. St John Ambulance presented tobacco and cigars to soldiers who then enjoyed a hearty feed and speeches.

Sudden Death of Mrs Clarke in Cranbrook
Mrs Robt Clarke died suddenly at her Cranbrook home on Dennis Street on Tuesday evening from heart failure. She was 35 or 36, had lived in Cranbrook eleven years with her husband, and leaves three young children Edith 10 Mildred 8 and Mabel 6. Funeral tomorrow at 2:80 from the residence to the Anglican church, Rev Walton officiating, then to the Church of England cemetery. Native of Wiltshire England.

The Cranbrook Methodist congregation bade farewell to Rev. W. E. Dunham, whose four year pastorate ended with a departure to Chilliwack. The service featured a politeness-filled program, speeches, music, and a gift presentation to Mrs. Dunham.
