A Moyie social evening at the Central Hotel on May 24 featured dancing and refreshments. Ottawa surveyor N R Smith and party left town last Monday. Mr and Mrs Kesler headed to Silverton BC. William Byfield left to join the Uth CMRs in BC. Robert Nelson and son of Kingsgate worked for Empire mine, driving a tunnel. they left for the mine Tuesday. Mrs Conrad Montpellier Wills and children went to Cranbrook for services by Archbishop Timothy Casey.

Empire Day Celebration in Invermere Raises Funds

The Invermere Gold and Country Club, Mr. James L. McKay, and Windermere District General Hospital directors organized a family day with children’s sports and a evening dance at McKay's hall Athalmer. Hospital funds exceeded one hundred dollars. Mr and Mrs Wedd moved to Natal BC as Bank of Canada managers.

Fire at Rectory Damages Shed and Porch

A blaze broke out in the shed behind Christ Church Rectory between six and seven Saturday morning. The brigade fought the fire with over 100 psi water pressure, quickly controlling the blaze. The shed and rear sleeping porch suffered considerable damage, with smoke and water damaging the house interior and contents. A daughter of Hey Mr Bridge was injured.

Fire damages and births reported after cottage hospital notices

A blaze caused minor injuries to hair singer and Miss Roberts. the Rectory loss is insured, contents not moved. The fire likely started from ashes in a wooden barrel in a shed. Birth announcements: May 24 a son Robson to Lieut and Mrs Percy Adams. May 29 a daughter to Mr and Mrs Findlay A Robson.
