Banff Windermere Road completion secured by province

Pres Galley Victoria May 2 The provincial government has solved the Banff Windermere road question and it passes all stages ensuring completion and maintenance. The province has spent 277000 with 75900 refunded by the Canadian Pacific railway. Dominion will take over and receive title to two miles of provincial land to form a national park. Critics note land values unclear. The plan would create a 10 mile wide national park strip along the road and boost tourist travel to Golden Windermere Invermere and beyond.

Victoria May 31 The Vancouver election frauds report says a conspiracy to rig the vote with pluggers smuggled from Seattle for the Liberal candidate. City Police Vow Enforce Law and Uniformed Force

At a full Police Commission meeting the law will be strictly enforced in the city with penalties applied to all offenders. Vic toria Day nuptials unite Ralph Laurie of Cranbrook and Nellie Lake of Calgary at Heath Baptist Church in Calgary. Rev Dafoe officiated as a large gathering witnessed the ceremony with attendance by families and friends. The bride wore white silk with shadow lace and Brussels veil. gifts included a silver tea service from Western Canada Flour Mills staff. The couple departed for Banff then Cranbrook to visit relatives.

Largest Parade in Canadian History Sparks Prohibition Support

A Toronto parade lasting over an hour showcased every branch of service from dragoons to field kitchens. About twenty thousand people joined to express Ontario’s support for prohibition, with banners from counties and towns and many decorated cars visible in photographs.

Doris Wal linger and Private Tighe Mecredy performed dances as Cranbrook Orchestra provided music. proceeds net about $40 plus nearly $70 from a watch, led by Mr Henry Drew of Kimberley.
