Mr N Hanson entertained Cranbrook Club members with a dinner party at the Kootenay Grill last Thursday evening. Over fifty are seated for a most enjoyable party with the Cranbrook orchestra. The Grill hosts many dinners, but this was the largest and most elaborate. Menu included celery, tomato soup, halibut, small steak a la Corona, roast chicken, brown potatoes, corn, Lobater salad, vanilla ice cream and assorted cakes.

Lively Competition at Bongpiel Bonspiel Finals
Finals at the Bongpiel bonspiel drew strong crowds with Harris undefeated until the final for the Corby Cup. Ice stayed excellent over three days and competitive curling prevailed. Local officials say a Calgary to Spokane train will resume about March 16 replacing the Soo Spokane service. Crow's Nest Pass area felt the loss of the discontinued train, a favorite for travelers to Calgary and eastern Alberta. Through sleeper to Calgary and the Cranbrook route carried much traffic, with timetable details still pending.

Knights of Pythias Celebrate Golden Jubilee at Crescent Lodge
Crescent Lodge No 33 Knights of Pythias marked the fiftieth anniversary of Pythian Knighthood with a February 19 1914 ceremony at Castle Hall in Washington DC.
