Acting under orders from the police commission the chief of police has closed all slot machines operating in the city. The move applies to Fernie and ends illegal gaming activity in local venues.

Our own correspondent reports Elko and Torad preparing for plains travel. McKee spent Sunday with family in Miko. Mr. McNish and family visited from Fernie for a few days in Elko. J Burgess and R Roby hunted near Jaffray. A baby boy was born to Mr and Mrs Hirtz of Elko last week. Christmas tree plans excite Elko youths. Myers the Elko school head returned from church activities. John Mott of the Hoffman house visited Fernie on business. Miss Alice Philipps visited from the ranch and stayed at the Elk hotel.

Moyie Preparations for January Legislature and Board Meeting

The provincial legislature plans to convene in early January with the Associated Boards of Trade meeting soon after in Moyie. The board meeting is expected around January 20. Al Richardson returns from his prairie ranch. Mrs. Kamm Jett moves to Nelson to join her husband as stenographer for the arbitration board. Wildey Lodge No. 44 I O O F hosts grand master Thos.son of Ross. officers elected for installation in the new year. Blairmore Murder Case Shifts Suspect To Mike Phillips
