Elephants Executed After Stampede At Lyons Circus
The Ringling Bros herd led by Satan endured a Thursday execution and burial at Lyons after a Wednesday breakout caused costly damage and fears of further trouble. Remaining elephants were returned to Bamboo Wisconsin with plans for rebreaking and a hoped return to the ring next season. Souvenir thieves plundered Satan’s carcass as workers prepared the body and prepared tusks and teeth for removal.
